Shimla, also, known as the “Queen of Hills” is a popular tourist destination and the capital city of the state of Himachal Pradesh. This city has been blessed with beautiful scenery and is surrounded by green hills with snow capped peaks.
Shimla was the summer capital of the British India and has retained its colonial heritage. Main attractions in the city are the Viceregal Lodge, Scandal Point and the Mall. The best time to visit the city is in the summer months (April to August). However, the winter sports lovers can visit the city in the winter months as well. Shimla is located 340 Kms north of Delhi and is best reached by road or by Kalka-Shimla toy train.
Manali is a popular hill station in India and is located in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It has a breathtaking landscape, beautiful scenery and clearly defined snow peaks.
It is situated near the end of the valley on the National Highway leading to Leh and is one of the favourite spots in India for the trekkers. Some of the places to visit include Hidimba Devi temple, Rohtang Pass and Solang Valley. The city is well connected with Delhi, Chandigarh and other smaller cities via road.
